The GEM Intensive Reading Program is a structured, high-touch literacy intervention package thoughtfully designed for students performing below grade level or experiencing difficulty with foundational reading skills.
Each enrollment includes a carefully curated instructional plan grounded in assessment data and delivered through intentional, evidence-based instruction in phonics, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary development. Placement within the program is determined through a comprehensive reading assessment to ensure alignment, precision, and academic integrity. Every package reserves dedicated instructional planning, individualized progress monitoring, and focused intervention designed to accelerate growth.

About Founder
GEM Scholars Academy was founded by Amanda Vega, an experienced and dedicated educator with a deep commitment to supporting diverse learners through thoughtful, individualized instruction. Amanda holds a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and is a state-certified teacher with specialized training and certification in reading instruction and exceptional student education.
With a strong background in literacy development and student-centered learning, Amanda brings both expertise and intentionality to every learning experience. Her work is rooted in the belief that confidence is foundational to academic success and that instruction should be responsive, meaningful, and designed to meet each learner’s unique needs.
Through GEM Scholars Academy, Amanda created a learning environment where students are not only supported academically, but encouraged to recognize their strengths, develop independence, and grow with purpose. Her approach reflects a commitment to refining potential and ensuring that every learner has the opportunity to shine.
